Current Projects

Below is a list of OM financial projects and descriptions.  You can give easily and securely online to any of these at CanadaHelps.org. To find out more about these projects or to inquire about others, please contact development@cdn.om.org for detailed information on people and projects needing funding.

  • Canadian Office General Fund: Whether it be pens, desks, computers or paper, the OM Canada office is always in need of something.  Your contribution to our general office fund will allow the team in Port Colborne to function efficiently and to better serve the missionaries on the field.
  • India - Dalit Education Centres: OM India and the Dalit Freedom Network have combined their efforts to provide education to the dalits ("untouchables") in India.  A child sponsorship program has been arranged so that books and teacher's salaries are paid.  This allows children to have the opportunity of a good education, something that would not be possible in India otherwise.
  • India - National Workers Fund: The Good Shepherd Community Church movement continues to flourish in India and the necessity for national leaders becomes more evident every day.  Gifts to national workers in India will allow workers to be trained up to lead churches and reach out to thousands more Indians in need of the hope of Jesus Christ. You can donate securely online using Canada Helps.
  • OM Ships - Ton of Fuel Project: With fuel prices being what they are, both the Doulos and the Logos Hope struggle to have the income to afford to fill their fuel tanks.  You can donate securely online to this very practical and imperative need.
  • R4TW - Run for the World: R4TW is a not for profit event that takes place all over the world at the same time. The idea is for each local run to flow from one time zone to the next - like a relay race across the globe.  R4TW aims to raise awareness and funds for world ministry in particular small projects which may sometimes be overlooked because of their size and remote location. You can donate to R4TW securely online at Canada Helps.
  • Uruguay - Eagles Wings' Training Centre: The Eagle's Wings Training Centre is a conference facility in Uruguay.  It is used for year-round events, Bible training and practical courses in trades.  Although the farm area surrounding the conference centre is able to underwrite many of its daily expenses, work is still being undertaken toward building housing facilities for the Uruguay team.

Haiti Earthquake Relief

Haiti relief
March 7 Update on OM’s Haiti Involvement

During the first week of March, a couple sent by the OM office in the Netherlands helped our work in Haiti. He is a structural engineer and inspected several buildings including orphanages, churches and some houses. He provided reports with recommendations on each. The wife is a psychologist, and she met with hundreds of adults and children, helping them process their reactions to the earthquake and the pain of their losses.

At the end of the week, an eight-member medical team sent from OM's staff in Uruguay arrived to assist. They are helping to serve a volunteer medical clinic and also are visiting orphanages and doing clinics for the children.

Our team continues to deliver food to various locations. At OM’s office in the USA, staff are collecting some specific food and hygiene items and some shelter items to fill a shipping container. After this shipment, we will focus on obtaining food and supplies within Haiti to help stimulate the local economy.

OM's Caribbean team is grateful for the funds they continue to receive from various OM offices around the world. To give toward the relief efforts, go to  Canada Helps .
