Muslims—it’s a word that triggers emotion today. For some, it can be fear of the unknown or a knee-jerk reaction to the media. Christians can choose to see great opportunities for the Gospel in the midst of the upheavals aff ecting one-fifth of humanity. Today, more than ever before, together we can demonstrate the love of God and our confidence in His power to transform the lives of millions of Muslims.

As we plan to celebrate the gift of Emmnauel, ‘God with us’, OM invites you to help equip our workers in nearly 50 nations with relevant evangelistic material and the means to connect with Muslims face-to-face. Your generosity is an investment that can not only change lives but ultimately impact the world. Thank you for your support and prayer.

Making impact in Bangladesh

Every day Motin opens his simple village barber shop and works hard to support his family. Among one thousand families, Motin knows everyone. In Bangladesh, along with your haircut you might hear gossip about the latest political scandal or advice about the best fertilizer. Two years ago, through a team member in the area, Motin came to faith. The worker met with him many times to discuss the Word of God. Motin boldly shared what he knew of God’s Word in his everyday work. Today, there are quite a few believers in Motin’s village. Pray that these believers will become the core of a village fellowship.

That was then

In 1961, a small OM team arrived in Turkey and started printing and distributing evangelistic literature. They began a Bible Correspondence Course, and witnessed to high officials, with some coming to faith. A team later travelled through North Africa and the Near East, distributing half a million flyers for a correspondence course. The great response led to the establishment of the Radio School of the Bible in France.

Today over 1,000 OMers work in almost 50 countries, sharing a common passion: making Jesus known to their Muslim friends and neighbours.

This is now

The Muslim world has changed dramatically, for better and for worse:

  • Renewed fundamentalism has made visas harder to obtain and more pressure and persecution for believers from a Muslim background.
  • This year’s ‘Arab Spring’ has opened the minds and hearts of millions to consider the Gospel.
  • Populations have exploded. Turkey has grown from 30 million to 75 million—vastly more people who have never heard of Jesus.
  • Millions of Muslims have emigrated to the West, where they are often marginalized and alienated—but also free to interact with Christians.

NOW is the time!

From the Middle East to Europe, from North Africa to Central Asia and beyond, OMers live and work where few others are. The story is profound. The journey is exciting. The people are warm and open. The opportunities are limitless. The message is eternal and life changing: Jesus loves our Muslim friends and neighbours.

Spending hours over cups of tea or coffee, hiking through mountainous regions distributing Christian literature, playing football with teens and children, helping women in difficult situations, or visiting friends and neighbours and sharing in their lives, OMers see firsthand how the Lord is transforming Muslim lives and communities around the world.

Your gift will make a difference!
