Personnel Coordinator: IrelandDo you have a heart to see people serving the Lord? Do you want to mobilise people and help them see how and where they could serve? As our Personnel Coordinator you will work with people, assisting them before, during and after their mission experience. This is an essential support role within OM, enabling and releasing others to fulfil their call into mission as well as directly assisting OM to fulfil its purpose: to transform lives and communities with the Gospel.
In order to be successful in this position you must love people! You need to be committed to helping them with all the spiritual and practical preparation for missions, mostly from a distance. You should be comfortable working with computers and be willing to learn how to use OM’s internal computer software. Your tasks will involve a wide range of activities within the Personnel department and you will deal with two main focus areas: Participants from Ireland serving worldwide and participants from all over the world desiring to serve in Ireland. Within Ireland you will be involved in mobilising people and making them aware of the needs in the world. You will respond to enquiries of interested participants, advise people before, during and after their mission experience - whether they are volunteering for a few weeks, participating in a short-term outreach, or joining OM for longer. For those interested in serving in Ireland you will work alongside others to find out whether they are a fit to our team and if there is a placement for them. You will liaise with other OM Personnel Coordinators around the world and represent OM Ireland at our new recruits’ conference. Here at Lacken House, you will be part of OM Ireland’s international community, living and working alongside people from over 9 different nationalities. If you are interested we would love to hear from you! The successful candidate would show: - Spiritual maturity - Self motivation - Willingness to work under leadership - Good administrative, organisational and people skills - Good communication skills including phone skills (communication with applicants, churches and OM staff will be an important feature of the role) - Attention to detail - Good judgement and discretion in dealing with people and information - Proactiveness in recruiting - Basic computer skills and the ability to write well - Ability to work cross-culturally and with different denominations. - Ability to handle the routine administration involved in overseeing personnel both locally and abroad. - Fluent oral and written English - Flexibility and willingness to help do whatever it takes to bring more labourers to the harvest field! Previous OM or missions experience is desirable, but not essential. Specific Training regarding OM procedures and databases will be provided if needed. Please note: all jobs/opportunities on this site are unsalaried. Most people joining OM have to raise financial support to cover their living expenses, usually through gifts from home churches and other supporters. |
